My Story...

After many wilderness years, failed marriage, failed relationships, failed businesses and living in one room I decided to respond to an advert that had caught my eye.

We are going back 16 years or so and the cost was much higher then and I was all but unemployed and right down on my luck. I rustled up the joining fee (more than a weeks rent) and when I received my contacts I sent 5 letters to the ones I considered were of interest, soon two letters arrived, both beautifully hand written and in perfect English. To keep it brief one would lead to marriage.

After a while my phone rang one evening and it was yet another girl I had written to from the list. She happened to be working in UK and only a few hours drive away. A date was arranged, you can imagine my excitement. Now here comes the twist, my date said could she bring a friend to which I replied as many as you like! I picked these two lovely ladies up and brought them to my small apartment. The girl that came for the ride looked under the sink and then prodded my house plants. "These need watering!" she exclaimed.

The date went well and we all had a great time all weekend (Philippino's are natural entertainers). My date for the next weekend was of course the friend. She turned up at my door with her little weekend case and when she unpacked, a bag of cleaning products were duly placed under my sink. As our courtship progressed my confidence returned my work prospects improved every thing moved up a pace. After around two years we got married and can now look back on 13 years of matrimonial bliss, several properties and two good businesses.
